We are excited to announce that Balanced Pet NW will soon be offering specialty procedures for pet owners who are looking for alternatives to traditional spaying and neutering. These procedures are:
- Ovary Sparing Spays: This surgery removes the uterus but preserves the ovaries, allowing female dogs to retain their natural hormones and avoid some of the health risks associated with spaying.
- Vasectomies: This surgery removes the vas deferens, which prevents male dogs from impregnating females, but does not affect their testosterone levels or sexual behavior.
We want to offer these options to everyone who is interested, since they can be hard to find in most veterinary clinics. However, we want to emphasize that these procedures are not for everyone, and they have their own pros and cons. You should consult with your regular veterinarian and do your own research before deciding what is best for your pet. We are not replacing or competing with your regular veterinarian, but rather complementing their services with our specialty procedures. All the general care and wellness of your pet will remain with its regular veterinarian.
If you want to learn more about these procedures, please keep an eye out for more information on our website.
